Here's a video titled "Ceramah Ustad Metal" as the speaker is known his prowess in blending heavy metal music with Islamic teachings. His name is Ustadz Abdul Somad, and he is a popular preacher in Indonesia.
This particular video caught my attention since I'm a metalhead myself, and it's refreshing to see someone who can take elements of the culture and philosophies behind it, and discuss them from a religious perspective.
The video starts with Ustadz Somad explaining that he had to use the "metal" moniker because many of his lectures and speeches are available on Youtube, and without it, his name would not be unique enough to differentiate from the others with the same name.
He then goes on to discuss various topics, ranging from the importance of gratitude, dealing with difficult people, and the dangers of lying. His style is engaging, using real-life examples and anecdotes to illustrate his point.
I appreciate how he uses everyday language to make his lectures accessible to a wide audience. For example, instead of using Arabic expressions for Islamic concepts such as Salah, he uses the term "prayer" instead. It makes it easier for non-native speakers of Arabic to follow along with the discussion.
Overall, I enjoyed this video and found it to be both informative and entertaining. I'll definitely be checking out more of Ustadz Somad's work in the future.

The second resource I found is an opportunity to download a collection of lectures by another Ustad named Wijanarko. I've never heard of him before, but the download page has notes from people who have heard him speak, and they all seem impressed by his teachings.
From the notes, it seems like Ustad Wijanarko covers a wide variety of topics, including faith, daily life, and worldly knowledge. The lectures are delivered in Indonesian, so I'll have to brush up on my language skills to understand them fully. It's a good thing to have a goal, though!
I'm downloading the lectures now, and I'm excited to listen to them and see what knowledge I can gain from them. I'll make sure to report back and let you all know what I think.
